Mike Link, Senior Vice President

A licensed professional engineer in Texas, Michigan, and Oklahoma, Mike manages a team of engineers, geologists, and supporting staff and oversees client projects from conception to completion. He works closely with customers to define the scope, parameters, and deliverables of each project, leveraging H&C best practices and resources to ensure their needs are met on time and on budget.

Tor is an award-winning oil industry executive with a focus on engineering and environmental innovation. He is a globally recognized expert on pulsed stimulation and pulsed injection techniques that improve waterflooding conformance in both horizontal and vertical wells. Tor has received a number of prestigious industry awards, including the Chairman’s Award for Health, Safety and the Environment, three BP Innovation Awards, two Helios Innovation Awards, and a NASA Group Achievement Award.

Randy Brush, Senior Engineering Advisor

Formerly the President of William M. Cobb & Associates, Randy has more than four decades of petroleum industry experience. He is a recognized expert in reservoir evaluation, management, and simulation studies, specializing in water injection, enhanced oil recovery, gas storage, field redevelopment, and CO₂sequestration projects. A licensed professional engineer and longtime member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), Randy has also served as an expert witness for domestic and international legal proceedings and testified before several state and Federal courts, regulatory agencies, and legislative bodies.

Dr. Mike Wiggins, Senior Advisor, Petroleum Engineering

Mike has more than 35 years of drilling, production, and reservoir engineering experience in the upstream oil and gas industry as well as academia. His technical interests include reservoir management and engineering, production operations, well performance, and production optimization. Mike has a Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering, spent 15 years as professor of petroleum and geological engineering at the University of Oklahoma, and is a Distinguished Member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE).

Deacon Marek, Senior Advisor, Petroleum Engineering

Deacon has four decades of E&P industry experience with a focus on reservoir engineering and field studies. He is an expert on waterflood feasibility and optimization and has conducted more than 130 workshops that empower E&P companies to quickly identify and quantify the waterflood potential of their oil properties. He also has considerable experience with Gulf of Mexico projects, permits, and Worst Case Discharge (WCD) calculations for the shelf and deep waters. Deacon is a longstanding and award-winning member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and Society of Petroleum Evaluation Engineers (SPEE).

Don Bailey, Senior Geoscience Advisor

Don has more than 35 years of experience in the upstream petroleum industry and has been a geosciences consultant for more than two decades. Working with a wide range of carbonate, siliciclastic, and unconventional reservoirs, he specializes in reservoir characterization through integrated interpretation of log and core analysis data, subsurface and seismic mapping, and cross section studies. He also provides support and expert witness testimony for legal proceedings involving equity disputes, arbitration, and litigation.

Tad is a licensed petroleum engineer in Texas with 25 years of experience in the upstream oil and gas industry. His recent experience includes fair market value estimation, the estimation of reserves and resources, acquisition and divestiture support, complex reservoir evaluation, and field development optimization. Tad is a member and certified petroleum engineer with the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and an active member of the Society of Petroleum Evaluation Engineers, serving as the 2024 SPEE Vice President and on the SPEE Board of Directors from 2022 through 2023.

Andrea Mielcarek, Executive Assistant

Andrea has more than 12 years of E&P industry experience and specializes in reserves estimations (onshore and offshore, conventional and unconventional) that help lending institutions with reporting, auditing, sales and acquisitions, and diligence reviews. She is highly proficient with ARIES and PHDWin economic software packages and has extensive experience integrating acquired properties into existing datasets.

Franklin is a licensed petroleum engineer in Texas with 10 years of experience in the upstream oil and gas industry. His recent experience includes fair market value estimation, the estimation of reserves and resources, acquisition and divestiture support, and waterflood modeling. He is a proud Louisiana State University alumni and member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers. He brings a breadth of experience in handling large data projects and experience in a variety of software.

Dorothy Pawlik serves as the Senior Analyst for Haas & Cobb Petroleum Consultants. Dorothy has over 7 years of industry experience and is a proud University of Connecticut Alumni.

Robert Williams, Principal Geologist

Robert has more than 20 years of experience as an E&P geologist and consultant. He specializes in comprehensive structural and stratigraphic geological interpretations of basins around the world, using a variety of software packages (Petra, Geographix, Apprentice, Kingdom, Spotfire, PowerLog, Transform) to integrate, evaluate, and maintain core, well log, and seismic datasets. In addition to geoscience mapping and data interpretation, Robert provides geological support for Gulf of Mexico drilling projects and legal support for equity disputes, arbitration, and litigation.

Melissa Northcott, Principal Geologist

Melissa has more than 17 years of experience working as a geologist in the oil and gas industry. She began her career with ExxonMobil where she enjoyed working projects from the exploration to production stage and assets spread across the globe. Melissa then transitioned to consulting with Netherland Sewell, working several international projects, and focusing on seismic interpretation and geologic modeling. Melissa loves working with the Haas and Cobb team, where she specializes in reserves assessment, log analysis, stratigraphic correlation, seismic interpretation, and geologic modeling. She holds a Bachelor of Science in geology from Brigham Young University and an MS in geological engineering from Colorado School of Mines and is a certified professional geologist in Texas, Utah, and Wyoming.

Sonia holds an MSc. in Geology from the University of Oklahoma and brings 17 years of industry experience to her role. Her expertise spans subsurface interpretation and prospect maturation across diverse field types. Sonia is particularly interested in fluid and pressure prediction, reservoir connectivity analysis, and technical writing.

Stephanie Toups, Special Advisor

Stephanie is a CPA with a 20+ year history of working in the energy industry. She excels in Customer Service, Risk Mitigation, Strategic Planning, Leadership, and Marketing. Prior to joining Haas & Cobb Stephanie worked at Tenaska Power Services Co. in Arlington, TX. She began her work there as a Real Time Electricity trader and finished as Controller and the senior individual on site in charge of Credit and Operational Risk. Stephanie also worked at Deloitte & Touche in Dallas, TX. Stephanie holds a master’s degree in Finance from Texas A&M University and a bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
